American singer, Trey Songz has announced that he has tested positive for coronavirus.
According to reports, the 35-year-old singer announced the news in a video.
The father of one is heard saying;
“Here with a very important message to let you know I tested positive for COVID-19,” he shared.
“I’ve taken many tests as I’ve been out protesting, food drives, of course, I have a very young son at home, so I get tested periodically and this time it, unfortunately, came back positive.”
He also said he ‘will be taking it seriously’ and ‘self-quarantining … until he sees a negative sign.’
“I will be taking it seriously,” he continued, after noting 1/1000 Black people have died from the virus. “I will be self-quarantining, I will be in my house until I see a negative sign.”
Going further, Trey Songz stated that 7.5 million Americans have contracted Coronavirus, and that one out of 1000 Black people have died from it.
“My grandfather passed away early this year and while it wasn’t said that it was COVID, I do believe it was; so, I’ve always taken it serious.” He added.
The musician went on to advise his fans saying;
“If you come in contact with COVID, please do the same, please do the same – don’t be like the president.”
