Some suspected herdsmen have abducted Nine persons traveling from Lagos to Abuja along lsua highway in Akoko South East area of Ondo State.

According to a family member of one of the victims, Bamidele Ojo, the victims were on board a Toyota Sienna space bus when they were ambushed by the suspected herdsmen.

The victims were allegedly marched into the forest by their abductors after their vehicle was stopped on the highway.

Bamidele also revealed that the abductors have reached out to the families of the abducted travelers and are demanding N100 million ransom.

Confirming the news, Spokesperson of the Ondo state police command, Tee-Leo Ikoro, said one of the victims has been rescued.

According to him, police detectives in the state were working with hunters, local vigilante, and other agencies to ensure the release of the remaining eight victims.
