Yesterday night, Nigeria ’s Super Eagles beat the Bafana Bafana of South Africa 2-1 to qualify for the Semi-finals of the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
The super eagle did a great job even though they missed so many goals.
On the first half of the goal, Samuel Chukwueze opened the scoring for Nigeria on the 27th minute. Chukwueze was in the right place at the right time to get to the rebound inside the box and gleefully
However, Bongani Zungu made it 1-1 for South Africa on the 71st minute. He lashed onto the rebound near the penalty spot, and he produced a fantastic header which went inside the right post.
At first, the linesman ruled out the goal but VAR gave it to South Africa.
However, when all hope was lost, Moses Simon delivered a teasing cross on the 89th minute from the resulting corner and the ball fell into space where William Troost-Ekong was lurking.
His bullet of a shot from close range went low into the middle of the goal to make it 2-1 for Nigeria.
