How To Activate Your SIM For 4G LTE Service[ For MTN, GLO, 9mobile And Airtel]

The first step is;

You will need to get a 4G SIM card from your service provider if your previous SIM card does not support the 4G. You will be provided a 4G enabled SIM card, the process to do so is just that easy and simple. Your previous SIM can also be upgraded to a 4G SIM.

You are to also need a phone or modem that has “4G LTE” as one of the network types. And phones that have LTE are mostly pricey like smartphones such as iPhones, Blackberry, Techno or any that will be compatible with having 4G LTE, so ensure to check before buying one.

After getting the new and upgraded SIM card, you are to then insert it into the phone. Go to your phone setting and change your network type to 4G LTE option.

You must also be within your network service provider (MTN, Airtel, 9mobile and Glo) 4G coverage location for active 4G Usage.

After confirming your phone is 4G LTE compatible, follow these steps to make the switch;

For MTN subscribers

Swap your current SIM for a USIM

Text 4G to 131, and You’d receive an SMS confirming that your device is 4G/LTE ready

For GLO subscribers

Swap your current SIM for a USIM

Text 4G to 400, and You’d receive an SMS to check your if phone or device supports LTE for G

For 9mobile subscribers

You don’t need to do a SIM swap. The 9mobile LTE service comes up automatically, provided your device is LTE capable and once it is on automatic setting network mode and be in an area covered by 4G.

Airtel subscribers

simply dial *121# and select 4G services.
