The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed shock over the death of the Emir of Lafia, Alhaji Isa Mustapha Agwai I.
The late Emir died on Thursday at the age of 84.
The “Ajiyan-Lafia”, Alhaji Sule Abubakar, confirmed the death to newsmen on Thursday.
Abubakar said the Emir died on Thursday in Abuja at a Turkish Teaching hospital following a protracted illness.
Atiku, reacting, took to his Twitter handle to commiserate with the family of the late emir.
He tweeted: “I received with shock the loss of Emir of Lafia and Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Isa Mustapha Agwai.
“He will be remembered amongst others as an educationist and humanitarian. May Allah grant him AlJannah Firdaus.”
