England football legend and former Manchester United player, Wayne Rooney, who is currently on 13 months into a drink-driving ban and has completed 100 hours of community service has been arrested in Washington on December 16 last year for public intoxication and swearing.
The DC United Player was arrested by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority for a class four misdemeanor before being released without bail.
According to reports, a hearing was due to take place on January 24, but this has been waived after he paid a €25 fine with €91 costs earlier this month.
According to the spokesman for Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office:
“He was booked into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Centre on December 16, 2018, on a charge of public intoxication stemming from an arrest by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police (MWAA).
